Pay Your Student Loan in 12 Months

If you attended University in the UK since 1998, it is extremely likely you are now paying off a considerable student loan debt.
As the interest rate is relatively low, you are probably just letting the debt decrease gradually by making the compulsory salary contributions, and waiting to see your loan statement every 12 months to see how little you have actually paid off as the interest accumulates.

That is exactly what I was doing too, until I discovered how to pay off my student loan for free.

I went to Bath Spa University from 2001 – 2004 and by the time I had graduated, I did so with a £15,000 debt.
Once I finally found a job, I slowly worked my way up until I was earning approximately £35,000 a year. At this stage the Student Loans Company were taking £135 every month from my salary and my loan had reduced through the automatic payments to about £12,000.
It was at about this time that I decided I didn’t want this situation to continue for the next 10 years until I paid the loan off, so I began to look into other ways of paying the debt and soon discovered this method of paying off my loan.

Within 12 months of starting, I had paid off my student loan, and was debt free.

Pay off Your Student Loan

The great thing about this method is that it doesn’t make any difference when you start – there are no limited time offers, or ‘pyramid’ type structures that you need to be at the top of. The method is free to use and distribute to as many people as you like (the more the better!).

If you have just started University, you are in the best position for paying off your student loan before it begins to accumulate. If you have just graduated, or graduated 10 years ago – there is still plenty of time to get started and be debt free in as little as 12 months (actually it could be much quicker than this, depending on the size of your loan).

For me, the process took just over 12 months from starting out, to sending the final bank transfer to the SLC.

How Long will it Take Me?

Everyone is different. Factors that affect the amount of time it will take to pay off your student loan using this method are:

  • Your loan amount (obviously)
  • Your income (you can’t prevent the payments from your salary as far as I know, even if you are paying an extra £500+/month)
  • How you implement this method will determine your success
  • How much willpower you have to make regular payments – it’s very easy to use the money you will make on other things!

If you are very strict (as I was), an average sized Student Loan can be paid off in about 1 year.

I paid off approximately £12,000 in 12 months. £135 per month was coming from my salary and the remaining £10,500 was paid off thanks to this method.

First, you need to understand how this works, and what you need to do to make it work well for you.

This method is based on affiliate marketing. According to Wikipedia “Affiliate Marketing is an Internet-based marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate’s marketing efforts”.

In English, this means that if you send potential new customers to a company, that company will reward you financially.
